Honestly, I think the celebrity interviews were the most boring parts of the older shows and I'm really glad that they stopped.

I think at a certain point, people become trained in how to deal with X situation, and it doesn't matter if Keith and Chemda aren't drive-time radio wackos, or that we're a hundred times more interested and attentive than regular radio listeners, they're going to treat it like wacky drive time, and they're going to sound like they just woke up, and it's going to be shit. I have no interest in listening to another celebrity mumble over the cue cards that their manager gave them. I give no fucks. The regular comics and NY people that K&C bring on are so much funnier and more interesting.

I disagree, That Bobcat Goldthwait interview was freaking awesome!!!

(Even if Keet did not credit me for the great questions I posed in the forums that he used)

Plus I think it will help attract new fans as typically these guys have a fan base tht normally wouldn't listen to KATG...

I really liked the Tom Rhodes interview. After that I went to one of his shows and it was freaking awesome. I was really hoping they would have him on again.

I did like some of those interviews, but I prefer guests to just straight phone interviews. I doubt I'm the only one who feels that way. If a celebrity wants to be an in-studio guest then I'm all for it. Otherwise, unless it's great interview and relevant, I don't care.

I like that they're not building a catalog of celebrity interviews, which can be so canned and boring sometimes, but are instead building around their niche, which is comedy. In the beginning, they were looking for ways to get themselves out there, and they have now established a good following and reputation in the podcasting world. Celebrities give interviews all the time so you're eventually hearing the same answers over and over again. Also, interviewers can't build personal relationships with celebrities, so the interviews lack a certain wit and chemistry. Keith and Chemda continue to have comics on their show that are great, have great chemistry with the hosts and other regulars, and make for great radio. A lot of these comics are starting to get even more attention, like specials on Comedy Central or prime spots at comedy festivals, and fans can tune in to Keith and the Girl to find them that way. I'll take a great show with a comedian over a so-so show with a celebrity any day.
