Exactly!! If the 12yr old child is ok with being left home alone, then surely she is mature enough to make her own decision and continue with the relationship with the 22yr old. However illegal it maybe. I'm not saying we should get rid of the age of consent... all I'm saying is that why do some people think its ok for the 12yr old to be left home alone (presumably because she's capable of looking after herself and/or her 10yr old sister), or her parents are guilty of neglect. People break the law when it suits them.

Someone posted the article with a diagram (!) in the Interesting News thread.

It looks like the bed had drawers. Drawers which the mother obviously never opened. WTF? The mother never cleaned in there? I hereby declare MUM guilty of child neglect.

PS: I love how they went to the extra trouble of putting a teddy bear on the bed and a horse poster on the wall. Very emotive.
