does this mean that Adam Curry is now the Mefather? cuz, if they can't use Podcast, Podfather doesn't make sense.
or maybe Mevioron, or hey, I am your Mevio Bro! Mevio, can you imagine the brain trust that came up with that name, probably the same people that came up with Enron. |

podshow RSS feeds got messed up
When they switched to the new domain name today, the RSS feeds for some of the podshow podcasts got messed up. Geekbrief.tv had this short announcement about it. Geekbrief.tv is one of podshow's main headliners too. Way to treat your content providers, podshow...I mean Meevuoouioouio.

The act of renaming a company / business thinking that the new name will make up for fact the business model was either flawed or poorly executed. hahaha Too funny. |

ya know, I just googled it to look at it. The whatchamacallit site is a mess (I can't even remember the name and I just looked at their page). It reminds me of a cross between a bad local radio station site, and the AOL home page in 1998 when the gifs were still struggling to load. It was impossible to tell what the site was even for.
On the fist page of google results, there is a story about the change. They are supposed to be some sort of media channel for the social web. What the fuck does that mean? Absolutely no one is going to wade through their bullshit to find content (if any of it is worth watching) Apple took their music store and made podcasting easy. It's easy to find stuff you'll enjoy and sync it to a PC or ipod. Why would they want to move away from that? |

So they've spent four years building a brand and they dump it now that they're finally expecting to become profitable?
Yeah, I'd be feeling real confident if I was one of the Podshow monkeys who still has their job. Last edited by MickGreen; 04-25-2008 at 02:54 AM. |

Wow. Just fucking *priceless*!!!
"We have never believed in user-generated content as a business, or even as a sustainable entertainment offering," said Ron Bloom, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, MEVIO" Imagine being one of the 'stable' and reading that. Plus it doesn't mesh with what Bloom says on his own site on 11/15/06: "We’ve created the premier podcast network. And, in the process we’re enabling creative people from around the world to connect with a growing audience and make money." Translation: The investors have spoken - fuck this podcast shit, the big buyouts are being generated by social media and video. |

*shrug* Plus, it's not like it would be the first time a VC invested in a company knowing that they would eventually have to get rid of the founders.... |
