I'm sure the poll is about that town Dublin and their new law of no sagging britches. I'm all for it. But the sagging skirts? I've never even seen that before. Did they just throw that in there for equality's sake?

my friends who are cops say, they love it, as the (black) people cant run away so they can catch them easily.
i live in a small (ish) town and 90% of the criminals caught while wearing pants like this are black in Savannah (Georgia) they just recently out lawed it, and are imposing a 200 dollar fine, and putting it under an indecency/exposing yourself in public category |

Just saying it's a feel good law at best but I'm not really against it. You just know there will be some controversial ruling where a kid swears his pants weren't even sagging or some straight A student running to the News because he was profiled for having sagging pants. Everyone is so sensitive. I would also be nice if they passed some sort of ordinance against the confederate flag too but I doubt that will ever happen. lol

About the poll.
I don't think its self expression, its just a stupid style. On a side note most of the younger kids that do sag their pants actually wear tighter pants and then sag them. In general the pants aren't actually "baggy" any more (at least around where I live), even when it comes to "black" or "hip-hop" culture, but that's just splitting hairs. I guess for me, I'm more indifferent towards the sagging of pants, to me its just a stupid style like the orange spray on tans. It seems silly to make it illegal, if sagging pants are ruining your day so much that you have to make a law, then your life must be pretty damn good.

The Ultimate Pot Argument
Okay, I know that Keith is a brick wall when it comes to debate, and lets be honest that is part of the fun of listening to him. But This pot thing can not be ignored, he and all others who share his opinion are ill informed and hold to an idea that is hurting our country.
I think I should start off by saying that I have never been high or drunk. The closest I think I have gotten to them is a contact High at Ozzfest. I have never had more then one drink in a single night. I also have no desire to take part in any of these activities, weather or not they be legal. I don't know if that gives me an unbiased opinion or merely showcases my ignorance, but I feel its important to get out there. I'm not going to waste time going into detail with all the classic arguments everyone already knows. Pot was demonized to stop hemp from taking over the cotton industry. The fact that Drugs are outlawed is the sole reason for all the violence and crime related to trafficking and selling. (Just look at the prohibition of alcohol from the 20's, birth of the mafia) Pot is incredibly effective in the treatment of tumors and cancer (You know, that disease that is probably going to kill half of the people on this forum) Cannabis extract makes brain tumors shrink, halts growth of blood vessels Arguments like that can be beaten into peoples heads, so instead of debating I am going to try a hypothetical approach. Lets say Pot does do all the magical medical things that scientist are discovering they do, lets say that the chemical in pot can be taken out and put into a pill and be given to somebody and it has the exact same effect of smoking the leaf sans getting high (and just for the hell of it, lets say there are no side effects whatsoever) Why should someone who is already dealing with the pile of bills from cancer treatment (or any other malady that pot heals) have to shell out another 100 bucks to big pharma when they could get it pretty much for free in their own garden (I'm surprised how people forget its a fucking plant) That covers medical MJ, but what if its a gateway to make pot flat out legal, well whats the problem with that I ask? 1. Its a fucking plant 2. As I said above, stops the crime linked to MJ trafficking 3. Because the crime is stopped it frees up our prison system to make room for real criminals. I'm not saying that everyone in prison for pot charges did nothing else wrong, but I'm sure whatever else they did was worse then getting high (I'm looking at you Saggy Jeans) The corrupt prison system is a whole level deeper to this whole thing but I don't want to get on a tangent. 4. ITS A FUCKING PLANT But if pot is legal and so widely available, surely kids will be able to get it (your growing it in your garden you moron, what did you expect to happen) Kids will always find new ways to get high, huffing furniture polish, drinking cough syrup, fermenting rainwater in a zip lock bag with an apple and an old shoe. All of these things are incredibly dangerous (and most of them we learned in D.A.R.E. Drug abuse resistance education) I have heard Keith state that he doesn't want any future kids he has to be able to get drugs, well keith, Would it not be healthier for Imaginary Keith Jr. to go to his friends back yard and sneak some pot, or would you rather he damage his internal organs with 4 bottles of cough syrup Also, maybe be a better dad to Imaginary Keith Jr. and he wont abuse drugs...too hard... Ah but what about the hard stuff like crack and cocaine and all that? What about it? As I said earlier USA FREEDOM GOLD MEDAL NUMBER 1! yeah, Stoners are idiots, drug addicts have had their lives and minds destroyed. But they absolutely knew what they were getting into when they took that first hit, hell we had it drilled into our skulls as kids what would happen. (Which probably made a lot of people want to try it in the first place) Okay kids, there is this magic plant that grows out of the ground and makes you feel better about life, NEVER EVER TOUCH IT...EVARRRRRR Of course thats going to make kids want to do it more. America is based on freedom, freedom of choice, if someone else wants to rot out their brain with drugs, what do I care. Its like smoking, there is no way to NOT know how bad this stuff is for you if your stupid enough to do it, fuck it, go ahead and do it. Its called Natural selection. I am for the legalization of everything to everyone (everyone being over 18) and yes, that includes drinking, lower the age to 18 majority is majority no matter how badly MADD's panties tighten up. I close with a quote from the second president of these united states "We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption." - John Adams, U.S. President quote on Hemp Here is a documentary, its very well made. There is very fucked up government stuff in it. I eagerly await keith's 2 word rebuttle. Last edited by doctorsleep; 09-07-2010 at 11:12 PM. |
