Black people work at Sirius XM.
If I caught wind that an employee said what Anthony said in anger, I'd fire them. You have the right to say hateful things in public and not be arrested, just like everyone has the right to not feel threatened at work by racist, backwards shitheads. If Keith or Chemda tweeted hateful shit like that, I'd stop listening immediately. |

There is a limit on free speech, you cannot incite a riot is a classic example. In a future show get a lawyer to explain where the line is drawn in various situations. Anthony had a right to be in times square and take pictures, but why did he stick around to get hit ten times?
I recently had to get a replacement cable box from Time Warner because we had an electrical outage. It took two days and four short trips to rectify the situation but when I called tech support they were friendly and helpful. Same with going to the store. The comcast call reminds me of when I stop a magazine subscription. They will mail me offers to resubscribe. Last edited by WSEIII; 07-16-2014 at 12:47 AM. Reason: great idea imho |

There was a campaign here a few years ago because there were so many deadbeat parents going to casinos all day and leaving their kids in the car. They've also had to tell people the same things about dogs.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom of consequences. Anthony Cumia isn't in jail for his statements, that's all freedom of speech means.
With that said, I personally think that he shouldn't have been fired just because you are punishing someone for their thoughts. You can't punish racism/homophobia/misogyny out of existence. This just makes people who are really racist/misogynistic do it behind closed doors. People still feel it and talk about it and teach it to their family. Just look at the re-tweets that Ant's fans sent him, they couldn't wait to pile on with the hate. The slippery slope isn't about the individual being tricked. It's about laws being enacted that can later be abused by the wrong people. The reason Hobby Lobby was able to deny its female workers certain types of birth control was based on a loop-hole found in a law that was passed that allowed Native Americans to take peyote for religious reason and not lose their jobs. Hobby Lobby argued, "if they can take drugs because of religious reasons and still keep their job, then we can do this because of our religion." The courts agreed. BAM! slippery slope all up in this bitch. |

sparrow & cHemmo nailed it.
too bad the sleeveless dictator lacks the vision to appreciate their point. Personally, I would have loved to see cHemmo walk up to that dude at the water park, wink at him and give him a big white smile, and say "hey big boy, how u doin...?" |

But fucking heaven help anyone who disagrees with your pov. Fucking sack the cunts - which in no way will inhibit people speaking their mind. Losing your job is no big deal. Let freedom ring, as long as freedom is defined by what scotto agrees with. Bring me your poor and your huddled masses, and give them the fucking list of shit they can't say or do, for fear of offending another poor or huddled mass.

see, Keith, if we lived in a world where he couldn't get those tattoos or openly espouse his ideas, he would have just been some secret nazi standing in front of you. what if you struck up a great conversation? what if you guys ended up being BBQ buddies? what if his daughter rubbed Hugsy's belly? and a year later, he feels secure enough in your friendship to get vulnerable tell you this big ole secret. you'd be so pissed at being tricked. there'd be a different rant about why we can't just mark these people.
you're being goofy, is what i'm saying. of /course/ people should say what they want/mean. saves the rest of us time. |
