The Charlie Hebdo thing was scary! I'm a cartoonist and I never thought in a million years my profession would be considered dangerous (aside from the fatty snack foods and the vast amount of time spent sitting.)

Crumb makes an excellent point. America has no real journalists anymore. It's all public relations people now.

It feels like Bill Maher is the only one pointing out that religion is to blame for all these senseless attacks and murders. Liberals don't want to be labeled as racist. So they remain quiet about the fact that Islamic faith is behind all this.

Shame on Muslims, but also shame on Christians, practicing Jews, Catholics, and any other faith-based believer - here in the states. They all keep quiet because on some superstitious/ religious level; they relate to other religions. They don't want to admit that these people are acting on faith. A faith no different than their own.

Religion is obsolete. God is dead. The idea of pretending anything to the contrary is simply not possible anymore. "What does it hurt if people believe there's a heaven when they die?" Well, actually it hurts a lot of people.

How much longer are educated human beings going to allow religious crazy people to murder and harm others? It's sick.

I'm all in favor of a world with no religion but that won't be a utopian world with no senseless killing. Communist countries ban religion and still manage to wage wars in horrific ways. The underlying issue is power and control.
