i've been proposed to three times. the second one was hella public. Sarge was in South Carolina mobilizing for his first deployment. they had this big hail and farewell ceremony with public officials and all the soldiers and their families and our families (we talked about it previously so i could make sure my fam came up). it was in the middle of the ceremony in front of everyone. i responded with something lame as shit like, "yeah." it made it on the Charleston news downright overshadowing the deployment itself. right after, we took a cab to a Halloween carnival happening down the road then the next morning he hopped on a bus headed to a plane for Kuwait for a year.

it was cool; i'm a chick who loves spectacle and fuss.

i said yes all three times.

the first time was Sarge in a hotel room the week before the public proposal; he was still in Charleston. i drove all night to see him. he whispered it into my ear while we were falling asleep. there wasn't a ring or a plan and it may very well be the only unguarded, loving, true moment i ever let happen between the two of us the whole time we were together. i should have said no the second time. the carnival was fun, though.

Bear asked me on a lark a few years ago on Santa Rosa Beach while we were chest deep in the Gulf of Mexico. i had on these bitchin' cheap, pink Florida shades and there were goddamned jellyfish happening. we never could fit it into either of our production schedules. that's given me time to really think about it and i have serious reservations about being anyone's wife again. like, i want to be his next of kin in case, god forbid, we have to make end of life decisions. marriage is the most efficient social mechanism that makes that happen. it matters. maybe we'll go back to the Beach and file for power of attorney instead. i won't have to wear white and i can still hand out balloons to children on the boardwalk.
Lanfear and John Galt like this.

The three times I've used Vista Print with the KATG code - it's never worked. I get shifted from the U.S. site to the AU site and when I enter the code there, they don't recognize it or accept it.

Guess it's just an American thing.

Molly said Republicans don't want immigration. That's what they say but that's not what they actually want. They love immigration and cheap labor. What they don't want is immigration reform.
