Why do you play the national anthem before games where two teams from the same country are playing each other? We do it in Australia to but only for the bigger games like finals. I don't get it and our anthem isn't even very anthemic, more plodding and morose and also written by a racist.

Best version of the national anthem, and a top 10 hit on the radio. Great production. I think it's the only version to use 4/4 time with jazz chords. The live version was lip synced with a dead mic, but still the best. It's hard not to feel patriotic when you hear this one.

I saw that facebook post and STILL within that post people commenting that Chemda should soften and just "accept her parents love"

Fuck everyone who is so tied to their shitty idea of praising their parents above all else; those people who lack the self respect or self esteem to put their own needs and feelings above getting hurt. Whether its from shame, codependency, or concern over how others will think of them, they're wrong and need to stop trying to drag other people down into shitty relationships with their parents.

Had a friend post on facebook that she had finally blocked her mother's number after YEARS of being physically abused, put down for being too fat (she's not over weight but she has muscle from training in martial arts), and cursing at her for no reason during their last phone call.

Even after reading what the mother had done there was some asshole in the comments "What isn't that a little too far? Your parents are the most important people in your life"
