Danger Mouse wears the eye-patch because "it's part of the suit", he doesn't actually need it. In some episodes it swaps sides and I remember him removing it in one episode.
So he can defeat the bad guys with only one eye. He's an excellent super-hero. He drives a shit-hot car and has an exclusive pad on Baker Street.
Mighty Mouse is blue-collar trash in comparison.
