I lived in Athens for a while and I hope you love it as much as I did. Monistiraki is awesome for jewelry and just about everything else. Amonia is for pr0n. Syndagma Square has great cafés and the Greek Parliment with the guards in their skirts.
If you go to the party island of Mykonos, be sure to say hi to my friend Nikos. He runs a bar there, or a café or fights sharks on motorctcles, or something else cool.
