HL2 has not aged well. The shooter genre has blown way past it. The whole game feels like a long string of boring AI, generic weapons, and an ENDLESS quest for more health/shield packs (I fucking hate the game for making TWO kinds of health packs I have to pick up).
It was great in 2004, back when physics was new and cool, but it's poo now. Other games have aged far, far better. Sid Meier's Pirates! is still an absolute blast.
Episode 1 was better, but still boring. The beginning of Episode 2 really started to show some promise, but I got bored when they made me kill a bajillion antlions.
