Cold Turkey and you have to REALLY WANT TO GIVE UP!
Willpower is the only way. Patches prolong your addiction. You stop smoking, nicotine leaves your body after three days. You are no longer addicted to nicotine - yay! Your brain will be your enemy though and you will crave it cause it's a habit. Fight that and you will be fine.
I am six months smoke free and it feels great. I have my craving moments but they pass.
