We interrupt this barf-fest to bring you a story....
I first met this girl in Singapore when I was 20, and she came to my 21st birthday party. She was HOT, and we had a brief "thing" but never went out together.
Fast forward 15 years, I had been married, was living in Hong Kong and was just divorcing my first wife (I was looking after our 6 year-old daughter).
Got back in touch with HOTTIE who was still in Singapore and unmarried. We met up, had a long-distance relationship for just over a year, then married. We have 2 kids now.
She took a big risk with me, because of my situation and because of my beautiful "baggage". I took a risk that it might have a bad effect on my daughter to start a serious relationship. Plus we did quite a bit of airmiles.
But if you don't take a few risks and follow your heart, you will never know if you missed out on a life-partner. I missed my opportunity the first time, I was not about to miss out the second.
