Free poker isn't good. It's a game of decisions, and almost everybody needs to have some incentive to try and make correct decisions in the game. Otherwise it very quickly devolves into "I only need 1 more card for a straight, what the hell it's free" Which just makes the game terrible. If some drunk guy does this with real money, you know you'll at least get compensated, so again the money aspect is there to give you incentive to play these idiots.

I've played a bunch of free poker games, and the game quality can best be described as utterly retarded. Consequently, the strategy to beat them is also super-retarded and doesn't really make for a fun game.
