I come from hockey country where the players are only thrown off the ice after they've nearly killed someone (i'd post a link to the Chara check but it was too brutal).
I don't get why it is such a big deal...sorry.
Maybe in this sport it is unacceptable behaviour but in other sports it is just part of the game.
in my opinion.
And no, in polite society it isn't "ok" but in this situation I don't see the big deal.
