Like I said, take what works and leave the rest. Meetings aren't a Christian thing unless you're Christian.
There are meetings for agnostics that include atheists as well.
Lots of people in the meeting see the "God" text in the material as an acronym for Good Orderly Direction.
Its just a way of leaning on something more powerful than yourself. The group can be your G.O.D.
A lightbulb can be your G.O.D. just so long as it's not you. You've tried you and it doesn't work.
