The jerking of the head thing comes and goes but when I have it, it stays for a few months at a time and it's much more crucial to do it than saying words that come into my head.
I can trace it back to around when I was 9 or 10 and the motivation is the same as it is now (even though it's currently not an issue). I will not feel good unless I let myself experience the tic (say the words, jerk the head, etc.) When I do relieve myself and experience it, I still don't feel any better. Then I do it again and again and again, with the same results until the need to do it recedes.
Huh.
