Disgraced policeman Michael Dowd and his crew of crooked officers ran wild during the late 1980s and early 1990s, shaking down East New York, Brooklyn, drug dealers for “protection” payments and slinging cocaine on Long Island.
Now Dowd, former members of his rogue posse and lawmen who brought them down will meet face-to-face for the first time in two decades for the premiere of a documentary about the scandal.
“It’s going to be like the world’s strangest high school reunion,” director Tiller Russell told the Daily News.
The film, “THE SEVEN FIVE,” recounts the crazy days of some the NYPD's most corrupt beat cops who wielded badges in the 75th Precinct as cover for their illicit pursuits.
