You show you're a good person, and then you ask them about the comments you saw. I'd even address that you removed the thread for them. Whatever the common theme was, ask why that seems to be out there. Offer up an excuse: "Are these haters insecure?"
Do not ask to bring this up ahead of time because obviously they're already a fan of certain censorship.
