Another amazing show by an amazing interviewer.
However, (you knew there was a BUT coming) it really bothers me to listen to this guy being so proud over all the things he did to other human beings. It seems like he realizes this to be the case and therefore has changed his attitude. But he also seems proud over his "education" on how to be criminal. It saddens me to hear that someone that is seemingly very intelligent can also hold other people in such little regard, even if it's no longer true. As Chemda pointed out, his voice changed dramatically when he expressed his disappointment in himself with relation to his mother. I would hope he would be equally disappointed in himself for how he treated other people. But the opposite seems to be true. I'm not so naive to think that this doesn't exist. It's just that when I hear about people that try to break down their community instead of building it up, I find it very sad. |

If somebody's law-aware enough to go "run your pockets", can you just tell him to fuck off? Seems like the whole point was the bully tactic would freeze people. But if you know the mugger is saying it because he's afraid of getting a harsher sentence, then does that mean he's not willing to escalate the situation to an armed robbery?

Try sending him an e-mail and seeing how much something like a sketch would be.

I didn't really dislike him and I do appreciate him being willing to share his story for the show. He did just come across quite matter-of-fact about everything, without much regret. Chemda and Lauren know him better than any of us though and are sure a good, kind-hearted person so it's good to know the experiences he's had have produced someone they're proud to call a friend and are willing to stick up for on the show. It's good to hear the system works for some people.
