yeah, I mean the only thing I remember about Brazil on TV is the mass parades of topless babes and people getting kidnapped and murdered. However the breasts are enough reason to still make me want to go and visit and take the risk.

The post office is a privte company with a Gov Contract. So you can not use that as en exaple, they take gov money to doa private job.

I doubt Fed ex could send a letter to my grandmother for thirty seven cents. The last one I sent took 3 days. My GMa didn't care that the big white truck didn't come screeching to a halt (after doing 60 on the block) to jump out to deliver ONE piece of mail.

(disclaimer) My YOUNGER brother works for the post office. and they have new equipment.

Not every gov project is done by the Gov. Amybe the Army corp of enginners will do it, but most are contracted out to a PRIVATE company. The gov way of taking bids is complicated and not just some joe-shmo can submit a bid. so they will always have a higher price because there is only a few PRIVATE companys that can do the job to Gov spec. So the PRIVATE companys can charge what they want and the Lowest bidder wins. (want to go up in the space shuttle from the lowest bidder)

Yeah there is SOMETIMES a bidding process where the government holds out a carrot to certain companies like haliburton to get a job done... and it will still get botched.

You were wrong about the Post Office, and you agreed with about your own NASA example.

It's like a game for us at FTL - spotting government involvment in stuff like this, and working out how it could work better privately.

Why the hell should I just TRUST that the government does a better job, every time I have a PERSONAL interaction with them... (on ANY level... ) I find out that they are the WORST kind of idiots. If you want to know more about what goes on at deeper levels... ask people who have had to WORK with them via government contracts... etc.

Compare ANY private entity to it's government counterpart. A private entity will do MUCH MUCH better job as long as there is no government money or intervention. What private entity does a Gov. Job and doesn't get paid by the gov?

I want you to "compare ANY private entity" It is NOT my argument.

I know the PO and the GOV are working hand in hand, BUT THEY ARE NOT A GOV AGENCY. So we can drop that one if you want.

Maybe I need to listen to your show before I get to far into this argument.

I don't like those dresses that go right under the shoulders. Not only do women always have to adjust them, those dresses also make their breasts look tiny and that really doesn't look good. did you see Alicia Keys on the VMAs? She was wearing such a dress and it looked horrible! Her breasts looked like some rotten Onions.
