Um, I would say it is CHEMDA's and Keith's genius. IMHO, she is the rope that seems to be able to help rein in the crazy guy.

nah, theres plenty guests who never lsitened to the show and kept being on, even joked about it (Example: Micah sherman).

I think the problem was with him being so defensive and nervous (and way too into the "i'm like Woody Allen" thing).

Ahaha, I listened for 25 minutes in and I was like "What is everyone complaining about?" Then I hit minute 26. Now I get it.

If the whole point of humour is to be surprising then why can we watch Blazing Saddles and Black Dynamite dozens of times and still laugh at jokes we already know?

Think about it like this, he has been a published author since he was a teenager, so I'm guessing he has been interviewed thousands of times. I can bet most of those interviewers would just ask run of the mill questions like, "What was it like to be published at such a young age." My guess is that Marty went in thinking it was just going to be another banal Q&A talk show. I'd put more blame on whoever recommended him for/to the show for not giving him a personal heads up. I also think that a lot of his "OMG, why are you asking me this." was more reflexive than genuine, and he was getting a feel for the show while being on it. Over all it was a pretty good show, especially considering that the guest went in cold and didn't have his "katg legs" Yet.
Double Bingo.

Anyone who's been listening to KATG for more than a year should know how book tours work by now. No author has time to research every radio show and podcast and print interviewer before they're interviewed. That'd take longer than writing the fucking book in the first place. I don't need to hear him again but, like Junk said, c'mon ... you drama queens need to calm down. Sure he was a little uncomfortable at moments, but that's not a crime. It's not like the guy point-blank refused to be open, he just took a second to get in the groove.

And the guy was making Keith and Chemda laugh. He did fine.

At the end of the day, its all entertaining ...and that is why listen. Even when it is a train wreck and we cringe.
