In the case of grooming children for sexual relations, the actual sex is the smoke. Grooming is the fire. Without the smoke, it's hard to identify the fire. How are we, as a society, supposed to distinguish between the adults who have sex with their parents because they want to and those who were groomed for it? Presently, that's a non-issue, but not so in your ideal society. At that point, a lot of behaviors become fraught. How should a parent discuss sex with their teenage child in a world where that child can legally have sex with said parent in five or so years? What constitutes grooming?

Beyond that, you still have done nothing to address the underlying issue that these are cases of out and out non-consensual sex.

I still think it comes down to harm being done. The only sexual experience this teenager has ever had is with her father. She grew up knowing he was her dad. And then he takes her virginity and wants to have children with her?!!! Keith made a joke about him having sex with the kids/ grandkids but I think that is a real threat. If its ok to have sex with one of your children why not the kids you have with that kid? She is still a teenager obviously looking for love and affection and her father of all people has exploited and taken advantage of the need he created in her life. I don't think this situation can be viewed as just two consenting adults without taking the backstory into account.

When I was in high school there was a male teacher that had sex with one of his students and then married her because he 'loved' her etc and so forth. But guess what? He kept doing it over and over again with more students. Thats a predator. The kind of person that is missing the part of their brain that keeps them from doing things they know are wrong.

If this man thinks its ok to have sex with his daughter I don't know what would stop him from having sex with his kids/grandkids (ps just writing that creeps me out). And that is why this type of behavior is criminalized. Because its predatory.

just because you /can/ shit on someone for sexual pleasure, doesn't mean it's your thing or that knowing about it will cause you to do it. you're being goofy, you don't have to have in depth conversations with your kids about the nuances of deeply taboo fetishism.
