I'm sure there are some lovely gentle pitbulls out there. but dogs are bred for personality (among other things). retrievers were bred to like to retrieve things, german shepherds to shepherd. pitbulls have a dog-fighting ancestry. if they are not trained properly, they can quickly become a big risk. even if trained well, they can still snap. its in their dna.

Top 8 breeds, by attacks:

#8 - labrador retriever....bodily harm: 56. deaths: 3
#7 - chow chow.............bodily harm: 61. deaths: 8.

#5 - akita.....................bodily harm: 70. deaths: 8.
#4 - siberian husky........bodily harm: 83. deaths: 26.
#3 - german shepherd...bodily harm: 113. deaths: 15.
#2 - rottweiler..............bodily harm: 535. deaths: 85.
#1 - pitbulls.................bodily harm: 3,397. deaths: 295.

Was really hoping the poll answers would be 1) Keith 2) Kerryn & Chemda and 3) Myka. Because "one more person is dead, I'm fine" is always my poll answer but this was the only time I had a chance of being able to vote for it.
