I used to have this coworker and no one could stand being anywhere near her. She would talk incessantly about like, three topics (muffins, the towels in her bathroom, and her kid's soccer playing) regardless of whether you were responding or not. She also had a weird tic where she'd clear her throat all the time, and trail off most of her sentences with "and it's like..."

I would literally pile things up to form a wall between us so she couldn't make eye contact, and walk away while she was still talking. None of that mattered to her AT ALL. It was incredible. At first I was afraid I was being really rude, but even as obvious as I was being, she never took the hint. I started to think there HAD to be something wrong with her, because it was such abnormal behavior. When you guys first started talking about aspergers, everything fit. I'm not a doctor or anything but I have to think that she has this disorder, because that is not the same as a different personality.
