35 mins in to the show, thought i'd made an xboxy post.

Keith, if you want to have a stab at understanding Halo's story, these two videos go through it all, with the people who made it, up to what you have to do in Halo 3.

It doesn't include the stuff outside of the games but that's really extra stuff you don't need. Start's a little promotional, but it picks up. About 8 minutes each, that octopus thing is in the second video.

It's a convoluted mess, but the video helps. I'd say the only really good writing in Halo 3 is Cortana's line at the start (which actually starts the first video) but I'm not playing Halo for the story, I'm here for the technicolour violence on a massive scale.

Speaking of which, you should join us in gta too. Sword fights with helicopters are fun.

Regarding where you're stuck, just tap the right bumper button (above the trigger) and you'll flatten yourself against the nearest cover, aim with the left trigger to pop out and shoot or use the right trigger to fire without looking so you're harder to hit (and because it looks cool).

I'd like to make it clear also- the guy who wrote in about the Halo story is totally fucking wrong. The books are spinoffs of the games, not the other way around. Bungie developed Halo from "scratch" working off of storyline ideas from their previous game Marathon, while incorporating aspects from Ringworld, a Larry Niven novel (excellent author).

That said, the story is pretty cool, but completely unnecessary. I've read one of the Halo novels and it is shit.

I don't even consider myself a Halo fan, but I am a sci-fi and video game junkie, so this shit is interesting to me.

As for Halo, the story is just worthless. I played and passed Halo3, and have no clue what that big ring ship is. Alls i knows is kill aliens and we have no idea what Master Chief looks like.

CoD 4 > Halo 3

The conversation about working out was almost exact to one my bf and I had a month and a half ago. We started going to the gym together, my bf swore that we should just start working out hard as hell right from the start.
I totally disagreed and said it was better to kind of start slow and work my way up, instead of going from minimal exercise to 100%, where I'd end up hating it or getting hurt.

I still think that my way was better, but in the end I guess it didn't matter because we're both working out just as hard now. He did it his way, I did it my way and we're both looking and feeling better.

You won't get any advice from this fatty, but I love the shows where you talk about working out and get so excited about your accomplishments. It's seriously motivational!
