I'm a liberal, but I don't think that "people are going to do it anyway" is really a valid reason for not having laws against particular crimes. People are going to cheat on their taxes anyway, so there should be no tax codes? People are going to kill anyway, so murder shouldn't be illegal? That makes no sense. Of course there should be laws against kid fucking.

i just reread the adam walsh shit on the wiki. holy fucking childhood flash back. I was 10 or 11 when this happened, and I remember specifically when my mother scared the shit out of me with this story in a strange grasping for straws way to get me to behave, not to wander off to hangout in malls and stores to play video games. Let me tell you it fucking worked, I got shivers when I realized who this kid was and how it shaped and eliminated my shitty behavior as a kid. I didnt want to end up in a ditch with my head cut off.

I used to RUN all the way home from the bus stop b/c my mom told me that child molesters in blue vans would snatch me. I was terrified of all vans for like 3 years.
