Deciding when to have kids was the hardest thing. The best time for my career would have been at 65 or so. But that's bad for other reasons. So my motivation was: I know I want 2 kids. If I don't start trying now at 33 things will only get worse.
Now I'm an overachiever with kids. People love to look down at mothers for different reasons. I can look down at people and think: that's what you achieved? And you don't even have kids and aren't an immigrant like me? Ok I guess. Worth it. Ps: this might be my lane if I did stand-up. A smug business-mother. I love it how Chemda always says "no spoilers" and then gives a bunch of spoilers 😂

Re: Spooky's relationship issues:
I don't know if this is what's going on, but some places in Canada and U.S. (and I'm sure other parts of the world) recognize common law marriage. This means that you may be entitled to things if you've lived with the person for a certain period of time. "In Ontario, Canada, two people are considered common law partners if they have been continuously living together in a conjugal relationship for at least three years. If they have a child together by birth or adoption, then they only need to have been living together for one year." In Ontario, you're only entitled to whatever you brought into the relationship, unless your assets are all intertwined and it's more complicated. In other provinces and states, the partner may be entitled to 50% of certain things. |
