“I’m an adult and I don’t have to be uncomfortable” is something I’ve adopted and lived by for the past like 10-12 years and it is so liberating.

That along with “what do we do now” and then blank staring at people are life changing philosophies.

I have used “What do we do now?” At my job all the time when some of my more stubborn Veterans reside all medical advice but still expect us to do something. And silence is a useful tool to
Get people to talk. I also now give myself permission to not be uncomfortable. “I am almost 40 years old and will not entertain this bullshit”.
