OK I had to listen to that clip a few times to figure out what idea he was rambling about and have come up with a few things;

-AC thinks katg is mad/pissed over rss feed issues from quite a while back. He didn't mention the contract reading or the fact that katg appears to be streaming from podshow/appearing on podshow web pages etc

-I may be wrong but I think he was making a comparison between Youtube and Podshow. He likes how Youtube is a convenient place to find small clips that would be hard to track down otherwise. I think he believes that Podshow is just 'helping' podcasts get in front of more eye/earballs and that everyone should relax a bit. Yikes.

So is Podshow like a Youtube and 'stealing' katg for their own uses?

To tell you the truth I am not sure about anything in this debate. New media has all sorts of issues to deal with; old media has so many financial/ad arrangements that are all co-dependant it makes it very difficult to make heads/tails judgements.

But last I checked podcast alley and digg don't require a contract nor make direct ad pitches on behalf of their 'clients'. They aggregate, index and promote. Thats it. NO VC, NO embedded ads, No board of directors etc...

To me this is a NEW Media vs OLD Media arm wrestle.

digg/odeo have a player, nobody hates them as far as i can see.

it's the aggregation of podcast alley, podsafe music, podshow contract podcasts and a podcast directory that gets everything mixed up in a shady way.

Adam really did compare podshow with YouTube. It's consistent with his style though.

In one breath he
- compares his ugly parasitic site favourably with a massively successful one
- uses them as a shield ("if they alter feeds as well, I can't be that bad")
- tries to turn the tables by innocently pretending his most minor sin is what KATG hate him for

It's just a perfect example of why he's such a slimy cunt.

Hey all. I discovered podcasts around christmas time when I got my video ipod. (coolest thing ever, except for the iphone). Anyway it took me a while to find KATG. Along the way (sorry) I listened to D&D and other retarded podcasts. After listening to D&D for a while I decided to give Adam Curry a try. HUGE mistake. I mean seriously, who can listen to him for longer than two minutes or so? Shortly after that though I found KATG...best podcast ever. Thanks KATG you two rock!
