You don't like them? Their songs were simple and repetitive, I'll agree with that, but Dave Williams was a great dude.. and they were never the same after he passed.

'Tear Away' and 'Pity' are still great songs.. even if people label them "nu-metal".

It's just not the kind of sound that I've ever been into. I don't know anything about them other than the singer died, and Bodies is waaaaay overused at derby bouts. Just not my thing.

That's fair enough, I feel the same about 'Enter Sandman'.. it's an absolutely amazing song but I've heard it so many times that it's maddening. Although, I like Load and Reload so I'm used to the stuff others aren't too keen on.. ('Until It Sleeps' in a fucking amazing song).

For a very long time I was really into Ooodles of Broodle Death/Grind bands like The Faceless, All Shall Perish, Abuse, Origin (whom I make pipes for), Through the Eyes of the Dead, Born of Osiris(first album) some insane bands like Cephalic Carnage (used to make them glass), Crotchduster, Dripping. All my buddies were into Black Metal, I'm not so much, there's a few rare BM bands I was into briefly, but not much re-playability for me.

I even used to have some pretty gutteral vocals and screams in a band I was in for a few years Caesarean on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads we recorded a demo on my old 4 track, the 2 songs up are from that demo in. Fuck I haven't even looked at that shit in years.

I may not be into it as much as I used to be, I just really like lots of music, but I have and will always have a special place for Between the Buried and Me, I still listen to those guys a shitload.

Just a few more albums on current rotation in my iTunes library..

Necrophagist - 'Epitaph'

Recommended to me by Junks, there's more technical brutality crammed into this 33 minutes than in the entire discography of most metal bands.

Cryptopsy - 'And Then You'll Beg'

Another Junks recommendation..

Gorguts - 'Obscura'

Again, another Junks reco.. it's creepy how well he knows my taste in music.

G-cover.jpg

Carnifex - 'Hell Chose Me'

One of the angriest albums I've heard in a while. Their previous releases didn't really do much for me, every song sounded the same. The ysame to have changed their sound a bit (IMO) and moved slightly away from the sound Suicide Silence has made me bored of. Brutal.

HA. You're following my same Brytalk Tech path, man.

I had a couple of very open minded metal mentors when i was a kid and one gave me this collection of CD's which included "Obscura", "Epitaph", and so on.

I always had a soft spot for super tech stuff, which is weird since i dont play ANY instrument

Well thank god for the people that introduced you various styles of metal because all your recommendations have kicked ass so far.

I started playing guitar because of Metallica which led to learning other types of metal. I can play 1 or 2 TBDM songs, the mere thought of playing ultra tech stuff (Meshuggah's 'Bleed' always comes to mind) makes my bicep want to explode.
