Last Saturday I went to see Judas Priest, Megadeth and Testament at Wembley and though Judas Priest were a bit boring - Megadeth and Testament fucking rocked my world and took me back to my early teenage years. So, with that, here is an old video with the classic line up

I never 'got' Judas Priest. What do you think of Megadeth's new guitarist?

As much as hearing the old songs like "In My Darkest Hour", "Skin O' My Teeth" and "Peace Sells" sent me into a headbanging frenzy I have not indulged in since my teenage years - I have to say, I didn't really pay that much attention. With the original bass player gone now - it's just Dave and The Megadeths.

I will say, they played the songs as they should sound and they played very very well. Here is a little pic of them.

You're citing a Countdown song and a So Far So Good... song as classics? What the crap? I guarantee they played Hanger 18 and at least a few other Rust in Peace songs, and their new stuff is better than Countdown and So Far So Good...

Honestly, if they're playing stuff from those albums, the only stuff to not pay attention to is Rust in Peace. They play like half that album live. I was trying to think of what RiP songs they didn't play, last I saw them. That's just blasphemous, man.

Woah! I mentioned three songs they played! They did play Hanger 18 and Take No Prisoners. They also played from what I can remember - one song from United Ambombinations, one song from Risk plus Symphany of Destruction and Wake Up Dead. Also remember, they were opening up for Judas Priest and only played for an hour - only so many songs they can fit in!

Sounds about right. I'm just countering your zoning out on MegaDave by pointing out that they definitely played more than a few righteous songs live. And see? That sounds like a great playlist! I know Hanger 18, Take No Prisoners, and Wake Up Dead would definitely make my night.

They stomp ass live better than most bands with a bunch of young bucks, so I'ma make sure they get their due.

No no, of course. I didn't mean to sound like that I was being indifferent cause I throroughly enjoyed them. The question about the guitarist was what my answer was to. I couldn't have given a shit these days if my dead mother rose from the grave and played guitar for them as long as she played the songs as it suppose to sound.

Wow - my dead mom rocking - that would be pretty fucking metal! :-p

Anyone heard that new Lamb of God yet? I've been listening to it for the past week or so and I've gotta say it's fucking sick. I've already been listening to it longer than I did with Sacrament.
