And I am supremely pissed about two things I learned today:

1) The promoters of Chicago Powerfest have been hyping up a MAJOR headliner announcement for the Friday night of the show, which they said would be announced today. The result? Black Label Society and Dope. UGH. God fucking dammit.
2) I just realized Paganfest II won't be stopping in Detroit. MOTHER. FUCKERS. Fuck it, I'll still drive to Mokena, IL to hit that up...

I used to listen to Static-X many years back, but I can't really stand any of their new stuff... that Lunatic song is incredibly boring. I do have to say I enjoyed their first 2 albums, though now I think they're more nostolgic than what I'd consider "good".

I can't stand Dope. I mean, jesus, just take a look at this music video:



Most retarded, nonsensical music video for one of the most uninspired, unoriginal songs with one of the stupidest titles ever. And what the fuck is on Edsel's face? Is it suppose to look like his head is a skull, because to me it looks like he tried to give himself chops with a charcoal pencil... I feel like this is the same, lame shit they, and about a thousand other so-called "metal" bands, have been putting out for the last decade...

Until I heard Lamb of God I thought American metal stopped being good at 1990-3? From my point of view that kind lowest common denominator metal doesn't exist in Europe.

Wolves in the Throne room is the shit though I wish they would do a making of DVD.

I'm sure there are many, many far worse metal bands... but off the top of my head, I can't fucking stand the following:

1) Limp Bizkit
2) Disturbed
3) Otep
4) Mudvayne
5) Drowning Pool

Oh, and throw Korn and Linkin Park in there too. Hell, how about pretty much anything you'd ever hear o the radio during your rush hour drive home? Saliva, Godsmack, Staind, Nonpoint, System of a Down. Hearing those bands pretty much just pisses me off. Sad thing is, I used to love many of them before I grew out of that adolescent metalhead stage... I don't know what the fuck was wrong with me back then.

Oh, and I also can't stand almost everything in the "Hardcore" category.

Mudvayne was good before they got popular, as goes the story for most modern metal. Godsmack and Sevendust was good... once upon a time.

I have to disagree about Disturbed as I can't help but think they have gotten better with the last two albums after the boredom of Believe.

Never got into Mudvayne but there is something that really bothers me when someone say "they stopped being good when they got popular". Did their albums become more shit or is it a case of thinking they were shit cause they "sold out" or something?
