I think that if you dislike someone you can just say it, and avoid them. Using music as an excuse to argue is kinda pointless.

I asked you a simple question and you avoided it. If you're going to defend somebody, make sure you can stick by their words. You know metal isn't just distorted guitars; rock is that too. But you can't just flat out say that, because then you're at odds with serial's stupidity.

I've been thinking about getting it myself. Iced Earth is a really mixed bag for me. Glorious Burden is a good example: that entire album is complete dogshit except for Declaration Day and the Gettysburg trilogy, which are pure genius. I hate Night of the Stormrider, but I like Horror Show.

Long story short: I've thought about getting Alive in Athens for awhile, but never really got down to it because Iced Earth is a landmine for me sometimes.

I gotta say, I think I'm on Bob's side. At least in shawn's thread...I think Bob was totally fine in saying he doesn't like hardcore/metalcore. Then got attacked for it....yeah maybe he's a bit guilty of stating a negative criticism...but jeez...why's that so bad? Do we have to support everyone's statements with further positive reassuring statements to each other?

Serial, I usually like you, but if all you talk about is mostly one genre of music, later claiming that it's evidence of you being more open minded than someone who continuously shits on that genre...is kinda complete nonsense...I'm not saying you're NOT open minded musically....but a ton of metalcore bands isn't going to prove it.

He somehow shit on me for liking Aborted who are so UN-metalcore it's not even funny. Bob is just a cunt that has a problem with me but he hides it behind his pointless music argument. Why should have to sit here and mention that I love Pantera and White Zombie and Metallica and Skid Row and Machine Head and Poison and Tesla and Slipknot and (old) Korn and Disturbed and Spinkshank and many other bands that span across all the little sub genres he feels the need to label every band. He picked metalcore because I said way back that KsE revived metal from the nu-metal days and he's been bitching and moaning on every single one of my posts in this thread (and others) every time I mention music ever since. I PREFER "metalcore", it's not the only genre in my music collection.. Bob should know this considering he makes out that he's been to my house and looked through all my albums.

People filled with that much anger eventually self destruct and I hope when his time comes, he doesn't fuck it up.

For the record, I claim to be nothing more than a metal noob who happens to know a few random bands here and there. Metal is not one of my favourite musical categories but it's better than say...Country or Pop by mountains.
