Clearly more strings = more hardcore.

I wonder if these guys have heard of bass guitars, I hear they get some pretty low notes.

on an eight string i think its more about the right string tension to drop tune it past drop A (why would you need to?) with out loosing note clarity

Dropped past A.. that's nuts. Back in the day when i was in a band, we used to tune to drop B# because we wanted "crunchy" music and even with that i needed mega thick strings to stop them flopping everywhere.

8 String Test. Seriously, just buy a bass and let someone else shred.

all the stuff played low just has the same sound as anaesthesia, sounds fine, but yeh, thats why there is a bass player in the band
