KATG Consumer Reports

Do any of you guys have experience with the Marlin 795? I'm thinking of picking one up and would love to hear the pros / cons.

CCW

Can any Oklahoma folks tell me how long it would take in total to get my CCW? I'll only be here for a month, so I'm thinking I might be better off doing it once I move to Austin.

Sheriff's Office website is usually a good bet.

Nice woodworking! How many lbs would you guess on that bow?

I'm have him custom make it for me, and since it's my 1st bow, I'm having him do the pull weight at 35 pounds. I'm excited it, it should be done by the end of the week!

I have no desire to hunt, I only want to target shoot and if i get good at it I might take up tournaments or something. Besides, the bow goes well with the geeky LOTR sword i just got my husband for his birthday.

You'd be better off waiting. It takes more than a month to get the CCW permit in hand.

I used to shoot tactical rifle/pistol matches and go through 20k rounds per year, but I had a kid. I don't have much of an arsenal anymore. I miss my AR and Kimber. Now I just have a Glock 19 that I'd trade for a .45 any day, a Kel-tec .380 that I don't trust enough to carry, some Spanish 9mm Largo I acquired from somewhere and an assortment of guns passed down from my grandfather.

Awesome. I've always wanted to get into the longbow, but I'm more partial to the Japanese bow. Oh well, I have no time for either. Nice bow though.
