Apps for iPone and iPod Touch

For all of us that downloaded the 2.0 software.
What apps have you downloaded and do you like them?

Remote - it's cool, control you iTunes on your computer remotely.
WeatherBug - no Canadian maps
BoxOffice - no Canadian theaters
reQall - looks cool, but I haven't tried it yet

Poscaster 3 is listed on the apple website. It says it will down load podcasts directly into your iPod Touch, but it's not in the apps store yet.

I asked this in a different less-specific fanboy thread without success:

Is there a good personal finance app for keeping track of checking and CC accounts?

Is there a calendar/todo app that can be used on the touch?

I'm not going to get the phone version, ATT wants about $100/mo for what I'm getting from tmobile for $45. I called ATT about it and they won't sell you an iphone without the $30 internet upgrade, adn the voice service price is inflated too

I carry both an old palm pilot and an ipod. I'd seriously consider a touch if there were good apps for it. My palm doesn't have a good browser or wifi like the touch has. Buying a touch would let me shed a device, and give me a good browser as a bonus

I looked at the app store for a minute the other day and it looked mostly like the kind of shit Mikey would buy. Nothing really useful like what's available for Palm.

Hopefully developers will take the iphone/touch as seriously as Palm someday and develop non-fanboy not-shit apps for it

I've been downloading all kinds of apps. A few I like:

Remote
Sudoku (EA) - cool interface, but with a few minor flaws (can't listen to ipod and play, long startup video) - 8 bucks
Stanza - excellent ebook reader and free
Pandora & AOL Radio - both are cool, but Pandora does custom stations
Zenbe Lists - simple app for making lists of shit

I haven't seen anything that looks really compelling for doing checking/credit accounts yet, only apps that do the most basic of budget stuff (Pocket Lint/Day Bank). But I would expect some more serious apps for doing this in the weeks/month(s) to come.

I agree completely that a large number of the apps right now are either novelties or complete shit. But now that the limited beta of the developer program has ended, the floodgates have opened up to all developers. Over time, I think we'll really start to see some more powerful and worthwhile apps shipping and more companies moving over to the platform. For a number of big software companies, it has sort of been part wait and see and part let's take our time with development and do things right. You can see what happens when app developers rush out apps all over the AppStore right now.

And I'm guessing even the Palm didn't have a bunch of great apps from day one. I have a lot of faith in the platform.

Remote, some of those free Jirbo games, Banner Free.
Banner Free is fun, I have already put all the curse words I know in and pointed it at various people.

I have noticed anything exactly like that on my touch, but it has been rebooting more than it ever used to. They are already working on 2.0.1, which should fix problems like these. Apple rushed out the 2.0 software, and it shows.
