I finally dug into this thread, it's very insightful and I thank you for putting yourself out like this and for answering everyones questions.

Would you rather like to be referred to as "handicapped" or "disabled" over "crippled"? Or does it not really matter to you personally? Crippled seems kinda mean.

"he's disabled."

"he's crippled."

I'd take being called crippled offensively.

I'd take being called crippled offensively.

It seems the disabled community changes their mind every week on what we should be called. It may sound weird, but handicapped seems more derogatory to me than crippled.
