Her CV is the first stop, if there is even one typo she will be out to the side. If she doesn't have a college education she better promote the shit out of her skill set.

Anyway, it could easily be a year looking for work if her standards outweigh her marketability. If she thinks she's a 50,000 a year employee but her skill set is 30 then she's going to be waiting a lonnnng time.

Women of child bearing years are discriminated against in the job market and it could merely be that she looks like she's ready to settle into motherhood that could be turning off potential employers. If she is clear about her flexible schedule then she'll have a better chance.
