Can I borrow a dollar? Tired of all these bum friends?

I have a guy I work with that I loan shark. 50% every 2 weeks (every pay day) A couple days later he's always wanting to reborrow. Last year I made nearly $4K off of him.

I'd feel sorry for him, but he does it to himself. He's one of those people that doesn't have money for gas in his car, or electricity to be paid on time. But he does have $200 to go to a concert or $150 to take his girlfriend out to dinner and a club.

I consider my collections a dummy tax.

The only time I successfully loaned a friend money, we drew up a contract (she was pre-law) and established a time line for repayment, with witnesses to the signing. She needed the cash for an unexpected court case (her boss accused her of stealing). And guess what, she paid me back every cent, even though it took a while and she was often late.

That said, I would never loan money again. I would give it with no expectation of return if someone close to me really needed it. But hell, I watch Judge Judy! This is 90% of the lawsuits - "loans". Sheindlin is right - "You're all idiots!"
