A squirt gun will work too but the bottle can sit next to your remote/computer/nightstand for weeks on end without leaking. My wife has 2 cats (with claws)and I've trained both this way and they haven't ever messed up anything since they were kittens. That being said I like dogs (works on them too).

Super Soaker FTW!!!

Completely unrelated, and not to take away from Jeff's question at all, but I thought this would be a good place to ask.

My male kitten has just been litter-trained within the last two weeks. He was a stray before that, but picked up really quickly. Most of the time he's REALLY good about going in the box, but a few times he's wet my bed, including last night. It's definitely not a habit, but it happens occasionally, and I'm wondering if there's some sort of trick/spray (anything??) to keep him from doing this. It happens whilst I'm asleep, so it's not really as if I can 'catch him in the act', and I don't want to make him stop sleeping on my bed.

fucking cats. that's why I had to banish mine from the bedroom all together. i swear they do this shit intentionally since they know where the box is and use it so regularly.

How old is he?

Did you accidentally tell him you were into golden showers?

That must be it!!

And we're estimating he's about 9-11 weeks old. Really have no idea, as he was a stray, but judging his size, that's what we think.
