Do animals have a soul?

I had to read his book of poems, No Nature, he's pretty interesting. Very inspired by Buddhism and his fondness of (you guessed it) nature.

Interesting guy. Sometimes a bit weird and I just don't exactly agree with him much philosophically, but it doesn't make him any less neat to read.

I believe animals have souls. They have feelings, needs, personalities, and that makes a soul. They have a life cycle, and without all that, they would be a toy or a rock.

yeah, my point is mostlky that i dont consider those things as a soul as in "something that survives the body's death". I dont think peoiple have that either. those are brain functions, nothing more noble than that.

So i think that involving animals in religious or spiritual rituals is quite pointless.

But as i said, i have found peace of mind in a firm non-spritual, atheist, hyper-practical view of life, so my point of view is very much biased.

And I see that. I'm not anything weird but not Christian. I am polytheist and I just like the thought of some fave people/souls/animals can exist in spirit.
