There needs to be an option for I hate it but my relatives force it on my and politeness was beaten into me. I've always hated the kissy kissy. Imagine me as a 4-year-old arriving in Australia and meeting my mother's family who are all kiss hello, kiss goodbye and being forced to kiss what were essentially strangers. Not nice AT ALL.
Last night Supper Nanny showed some parents what that invasion of personal spaces looked like to kids, every parent should have a demonstration. |

I hug almost all family members, kiss all female ones, only kiss my dad and grandpa, every other guy gets a handshake.
I don't really hug most of my friends, I feel awkward I'm not sure why. I don't mind receiving hugs and in turn hugging back, but I don't ever initiate them. |

holy fuck that's a lot of gibberish for some spam.
I never did the kissy kiss thing before I met my wife and her family. Most of them do the cheek kiss, and I still find myself using my stubble to grate their faces more than actually kissing them back. I don't need people touching me unnecessarily, but I love a good back rub. |

My dad's family does kissing greetings.
I hate them with a passion. It's horrible and awkward. My mum's family does nice hugs. Funnily enough, I like my mum's family and not my dad's. |

All of my mother's side of the family came (with the exception of one aunt) today which is 2 aunts, one uncle, grandfather, and 5 cousins...very surprising; I didn't kiss a single person. But the other aunt comes tomorrow...I'll take a note.
