i've had to spend the last few days as my kids' sole source of entertainment since we've been "iced-in" so i'm excited to get caught up tomorrow.

Hmm, well I like the Thursday Movie/Chat Night idea, so....

Unless anyone objects, or wants a different time, or for today not to be the first of this weekly event...I say,

Tonight at 10pm Eastern Standard Time
(That's a little less than 4 hours from now) I will prepare to watch On The Waterfront and be in the KATG Chatroom. Obviously, everyone's welcome to join and watch and chat, we can synchronize our movies as best we can and well...have fun!


So come on people! LET'S DO IT!

This sounds awesome (though I have plans this week, and I haven't watched the other movies for film club. I've had OTWF torrented for like a year now and kept putting off watching it.

You'll need a drinking game if you're gonna synchrowatch movies.

That's an awesome idea! I don't know enough about this movie to know what moments would be good for a drink...but I'll search the interwebs to see if anyone before came up with something.


-Edit: After watching a trailer and reading a bit about the movie and some quotes without trying to ruin anything for myself...I got a few suggestions for a drinking game if people wanna play it.

Drink whenever:
-A character immediately repeats a phrase; ex. "Come on. Come on." - "Do you remember __, do you remember." - "I didn't know. I didn't know."
-A character says the phrase "some people"
-Somebody gets hit / or there's a fight
-Every time the priest enters the room.
-Whenever there's a crying female.

I like it!
But it might be easier to plan a chat party for next week, and we'll have a different movie then. Maybe whomever chooses it can try to pick a movie that's especially good for drinking games??

Or we could just do it with OTWF sometime this weekend. What does everyone think?

But either way, you guys had better not even think about having a Film Club party without me!

Here's my sched (CST):
I'm home at 6ish on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 7ish on Mondays, and 9ish on Wednesdays. But I'm pretty free on the weekend.

All right, well I'm late to my own party, and I even invited a few friends over to join. I had to go out and buy some beer and liquor because I was out of anything drinking game-worthy...so since I'm late to my party, and it seems like not enough people are aware of this last-minute party, and some of our members can't partake

I say, as far as I'm concerned, I'll put off holding this party 'til next week.
I'll probably also chose a different movie tonight (for me and my friends), one that's better for drinking games.

Also...is everyone cool with it being Thursday? I mean it works fine for me, but I would imagine something like a weekend might be more workable for everyone...then again, some of us might have regular plans on their weekends...

I dunno what I'm talking about anymore, and I got a party super party to run!

Thursday evening I have stuff, and class at 9am Friday, so I'd def pref the weekend. Even fridays sometime pre-KATG would work.

anytime after 8:30 through the week is great for me. weekends are pretty free, too
