Ooooooo! Ok, my pick is "Lady Vengeance" by Chan-wook Park.

If you haven't seen his other films, especially "Oldboy", check those out as well if you like this one. One of my favorite foreign directors. His films "Sympathy for Mr Vengeance", "Oldboy" and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" are widely known as the "Vengeance Trilogy".

I've been wanting to watch Old Boy for a long time, are they related story wise?
If so I might want to do marathon them. Otherwise, I'll try to watch this when I can.

I have a shit ton of homework and stuff to do all week, and I'm a little behind on a movie or two (I think...I might be wrong) so I might not get the watching done on time, but I'll try to do EVERYTHING in a timely manner. lol

Well, they are part of a trilogy of themes, but they aren't tied together in any way. You won't not understand this one by not watching oldboy first. I was going to pick oldboy, but I figured more people had probably seen that one. I wish his newer movies like Thirst would come out on blu ray in the states, they look awesome.

I'm interested in this film club. Although I'm a once a month forum checker, this seems pretty rad. Oldboy is one of my favorite movies, but sadly I've never seen any of the other revenge series....so is Lady Vengeance the choice? When does it get watched?

There isn't really a set limit on how long we have to watch any particular movie, but there is a minimum of two days, I think we average about 3 days per movie.
If you only check the forums once a month, you could always just look through what we've watched that month and watch those films.

I believe the point of our club isn't really to watch every film that gets chosen, so much as it's to promote conversation about the films we do chose, right?

Yeah, we plough through films together as a means of broadening our cinematic horizons, and having a more informed means by which we can discuss the films usually in our attention-o-sphere.

"Doesn't look like my sort of thing, I'll skip it" completely misses the point of the club, if that helps!

I am leaving tonight to hang out with a hot nerdy girl for a couple of days, smoke a badly-rolled something-or-other, and watch this movie once or twice. Loved Old Boy; good pick. I would never have thought to look this up.
