For thinking about watching a movie? That's not illegal in my country.

Yeah I just watched this a few nights ago and was pretty impressed with the performance from both the actors. I wasn't terribly impressed with the movie itself, but it wasn't awful.

BTW, there are few things as obnoxious as someone who presumes to tell you how you should feel or think about a movie. Or a book, or play, or anything of the sort. If you didn't like a movie, fine. Don't tell me I'm an idiot for not liking it, or that I didn't 'get' it. And vice versa.

After seeing this and Juno, one thing is certain: Ellen Page makes a hot underager. Fact.

Yeah but your country takes hobbits as refuges so...

I liked the movie, and I had the exact experience as spooky described; my empathy and trust for the character switched very often which made it a very enjoyable movie.

See, I didn't feel "empathy" in the standard form. Very early on I wondered if anything he'd done was deserving of what he received, that yes, he might be a degree of evil, but was it THIS bad? From the get-go, he was a scumbag, and it's obvious.

Once the "cat is out of the bag" so to speak, I had no more sympathy for the bastard. Then the feelings I had were no longer in question, I wanted to do worse to him. Is that because I have kids? Maybe. Or maybe I believe there is a special kind of hell for people like him.

I think it takes a great director to take an attractive, intelligent and "quiet guy next door" that's a bit artsy become evil incarnate. there's a difference between hoping someone dies and wanting to be there in person with a scalpel, salt, bleach and lye, to make them suffer and scream.

Either way, Ellen Page is amazing, I'll watch anything she's in from this day forth. Brilliant fucking work by her. And by the Phantom of the Opera, too!

If? I wish.

When they do, if she's in it, I'll watch it.

Fuck, if they put her in an episode of Degrassi I'll watch it.
