I feel like it's an underlying problem in America, where men are fathers who too often get caught up in work; mostly because that is what is required and needed. It is a dynamic in need of change. of course, but it doesn't shield you from life bullshit. everyone has that, there are people whose struggles aren't acknowledged. i akin it to how as southern persons, we're not allowed to possess public pride. white men aren't allowed to express their struggles lest they hit a deaf wall of "white advantage." this 55 year old white man with blood and scars on the back of his hands working 14 day 2nd shift stretches through joint pain as his child slips into her third decade practically a stranger is certainly too advantaged for anyone's consideration.
