If she's the primary lease holder, you should move out. It's not fair for you but at this point your sanity is probably more important than what's fair and what isn't. If you're also on the lease and will take a hit to your credit if you don't pay the fee for breaking contract, tell the landloard or apt manager about her drug use, ask their advice (not for their help, that will probably turn them off, people probably ask for help every day). I actually did this with my mom but it was a little different, i couldn't afford the rent without her so we both had to move out into shitier places. And it's always better to be sane in a shit hole than crazy in a regular apt. Dr boyfriend and I also had to kick a guy out of our apartment who wasn't an addict, but who was really irresponsible and kept telling us that he need to stay for a few more days and a few more days, which stretched on for months. I finally told him that he had exactly two weeks, circled it on the calendar and when the day came he went to someone else's house. I think the fact that i was not the lease holder made getting out easier with my mom, and the fact that i never got she guy a key made it easier with him.

Jesi... are you on the lease too or just her? If it's only her, you have no recourse with the landlord. However if you are listed as a tenant, he will have to react.
I do the like the idea of calling the cops. But that's a whole big can of worms to open. Sorry baby... keep us posted. |

I think it's true that you need to be the one to move out, unfortunately.
Figure out how you can get er done, then give the cunt 30 days notice. If you do everything by the book, nothing can come back and bite you in the ass. What happens to her afterward is her mess to deal with. Then you're free and clear with nothing but lolcats and rainbows, happily ever after. |

![]() My boyfriend is also on the lease. I'm wondering if we can somehow overrule her primary leaseholder status? The landlord said when we signed the lease that the primary status doesn't really mean anything other than that person is responsible first if rent doesn't get paid... |

If you go all-out, first talk to cops and ask what you can do, then if you can get her locked up in drug rehab or something in one swoop, then while she's out of the house get her stricken from the lease and ruin her life so she can't get you back (maybe plant a little drugs to get her locked up), that's probably the best option. By the time she's out of prison, you'll have moved out, presumably she doesn't have too much info on you to track you down.

Move to NJ! I don't have an extra room, but I'd build one for you!
![]() HighMike is right, document everything. Keep all her crazy letters, write down the dates and conversations, and even take photos of all your stuff and keep them somewhere out of the house. It might seem extreme, but better safe than sorry. Does she have a previous relationship with the landlord? I'd talk to him, I know I'd want to know what was happening in my home. Tell him what you've discovered, and that you're fearful it could escalate to violence or extreme property damage, and ask how he wants to proceed. As a tenant, you do have the right to live in a home where you don't fear for your safety. I don't know the laws in MI, but I will look them up for you and see what I find. At the very least I'd expect him to let you out of your lease free of any penalties, including withholding your damage deposit, but again, I'd look that up. It might be in your best interest to leave any way, talk to someone in your county courthouse in the landlord-tenant divison. They're a huge resource for information and guidance. If all else fails, the ladies of SNA will make a trip out there and cut the bitch! ![]() http://www.legislature.mi.gov/docume...ntlandlord.pdf

move out. period. before she starts selling your stuff. i'd discuss the whole situation with your landlord and see if he can recommend anything. if he is going to be a jerk, then just show up one day with some friends and move it all out. it's a bad bad situation especially when dealing with someone so unstable.
