I guess she must not have known that. My dad ended up getting custody, so the plan didn't work anyway.

I don't believe any good comes from these tests, as far as individuals are concerned. I enjoy high score tables as much as the next geek but its so reductive and harmful, whatever the result.

I was in a medical study as a younger teen, and as a result went through a battery of tests over a series of visits. But because it was a blind study, I wasn't allowed to know any of my results. When I asked, I was told that I couldn't be retarded, because anyone with an IQ lower than 75 or 80 would get removed from the test group, that kids in my group were showing to skew high, and that I most likely had a higher than average IQ.
Also, I don't have 45 minutes to waste on your damn test. At least not right now.

I'm gonna reserve my right to respond to this poll after I sit the proper mensa test in a few weeks time.
i mean, game shows have told me i am super smart (among game show contestants) - but i would like to have my smarts verified by an external body. |

So the way I see it, as long as you can bullshit a good reason for why you answer how you do, you can be an Einstein. |

The test told me I'm too smart to be awarded a mere number. It gave me a 3D platinum unicorn instead, which, roughly translated for all you normal-brained peeps with simple number level IQs, means that I'm always the smartest person in any thread I post in. That's scientific.
I promise to remain humble though. |

Mensa doesn't give you a score, just tells you whether you scored high enough to get in or not (supposedly this is to prevent further iq-peen-measuring within the mensa community). Also, the english test is nothing like this, it was all math and verbal logic. I think their culturally-unbiased test is the shapes.
