Automotive forums are really big into customized badges. Most are polished aluminum.
How thick can you cut/engrave? What types of files do you work with...PSD? |

I can engrave any thickness of material. Is seems that Quarter inch plastic and wood are about it's limitations as far as cutting anything in a time effective manner goes. It really cant cut or engrave metal, only metal that's been coated with something that the laser can take away. I just thought of skateboard decks today, those could be cool.

A machine shop we use makes customs product labels. They use some kind of metal from 3M that has adhesive on the back and has a thin coat of black on the front (maybe anodized?). They use the laser to etch away the black which leaves a whitish ivory color. They are good for small runs of serial number labels or one offs.
